Export Operations – Late Shift Colnbrook / Feltham / Air and road freight

Monday to Friday - 14:00 – 22:30

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced freight forwarding professional to join a growing and ambitious freight forwarder as part of its expanding operations team. The business is continuing to invest in its people, customers and infrastructure, with a planned move into brand new purpose-built offices in Feltham later this year. This position has been created due to company growth and offers genuine scope for progression for a driven export-focused operations professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-led environment.

Role Overview

As Export Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing time-critical import and export shipments from start to finish, with exports forming the main focus of the role. You will coordinate air and road freight movements, liaise closely with customers, carriers and overseas partners, and ensure shipments are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with customer expectations. The role will also involve supporting AOG shipments, where urgency, clear communication and attention to detail are essential. You will be expected to respond quickly and professionally to customer emails, operational requests and live shipment updates, helping to deliver a high-quality service at every stage of the forwarding process.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in freight forwarding operations, ideally covering both imports and exports.
  • Strong export operations experience, preferably across air freight and road freight.
  • Experience managing shipments from booking through to final delivery.
  • Familiarity with AOG shipments and the service levels required for time-critical aviation movements.
  • Customs entry experience would be advantageous, although training can be provided for candidates with strong freight forwarding knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service approach, with the ability to manage urgent requests professionally.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple live shipments.
  • High attention to detail and confidence working to tight operational deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently during late-shift hours while remaining part of a wider operations team.
  • Proficient IT skills and experience using freight forwarding systems would be beneficial.

Salary and Benefits

Basic salary up to £42,000 for the right candidate. 26 days annual leave, plus UK Public Holidays. Option to join the company healthcare scheme following successful completion of probation. Employee contribution required. Opportunity to join a growing freight forwarder at an exciting stage of development. Brand new purpose-built offices in Feltham planned for later this year.
