Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop new hardware and support existing hardware products for existing servo-hydraulic systems as well as new applications.
  • Selection and maintenance of design tools.
  • Maintenance of electronic drawings.
  • Support PC software team to develop prototype code to support new hardware.
  • Develop new functions and features in embedded DSP and microcontroller code.
  • Create prototype hardware and software.
  • Testing and validation.
  • Responsible for conformance to standards of electronic hardware.
  • Contributing to design and innovation of new features to respond to customer requirements.
  • Interface with sales to clarify customer needs and feasibility of requirements.
  • Support of production in calibration, set-up, and test.
  • Developing and suggesting alternative solutions to customer requirements.
  • Dealing with all electronic manufacturing procurement including Bills of Materials.

What will you need?

  • Experience of supporting electronics and embedded processors in a control environment.
  • Significant past experience in a similar role.
  • Customer service focus with good interpersonal skills.
  • Team player, able to collaborate with others and willing to share ideas.
  • Prepared to travel as and when required.

Skills

  • Design of digital circuits utilising FPGA devices (ALTERA Cyclone).
  • Design and integration of embedded DSP (TI 54X and 67X series) and USB.
  • Design of high quality, low noise analogue circuits for interfacing transducer signals to ADCs and DACs.
  • Schematic Capture and PCB Layout (using Altium if possible).
  • Complex FPGA Design using VHDL in ALTERA Quartus and Modelsim simulation.
  • Help with support of existing embedded C software for DSP using Texas Instruments Code Composer.
