We are seeking an experienced Engineering Development Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and drive the development of innovative products from concept through to release. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping engineering processes, improving product performance, and aligning technical development with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop cross-functional engineering teams across software, hardware and systems engineering.
- Manage the full product development lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of new and existing products.
- Identify opportunities to improve and expand the product portfolio through innovation and emerging technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, quality, documentation and delivery.
- Provide technical leadership, systems integration oversight and engineering governance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and commercial teams to align engineering strategy with customer and market needs.
- Support engineering resource planning, recruitment and team development.
About You
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within a manufacturing or technology environment.
- Strong background in product development and engineering programme delivery.
- Excellent understanding of systems engineering, product lifecycle management and continuous improvement.
- Commercially aware with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline (or equivalent), with Chartered Engineer status or progress towards it desirable.
- Experience in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, defence, robotics, industrial machinery or other high-integrity engineering environments would be advantageous.
