We’re looking for an experienced Banking & Finance lawyer to join our client, a leading international financial institution.
This role offers the chance to work closely with lending and credit teams across the UK and Europe, providing strategic legal support on a broad range of financing transactions and client matters.
This position would suit a mid-to-senior level qualified lawyer with strong experience in corporate lending and banking transactions who enjoys working in a commercial, fast-paced environment.
The Opportunity
You will provide legal support across a diverse flow lending portfolio, advising on a wide range of financing transactions while partnering with senior business stakeholders to help manage risk and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a broad spectrum of lending transactions, including revolving credit facilities, term loans and overdraft facilities.
- Negotiate and review facility agreements based on LMA documentation and, where relevant, LSTA precedents across both bilateral and syndicated transactions.
- Support complex syndicated financings, including bespoke structures and multi-party negotiations.
- Advise on sustainability-linked lending arrangements, including KPI-based margin ratchets and ESG-related covenant packages.
- Deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice on lending transactions and related client matters.
- Provide guidance on legal, regulatory and reputational risk issues, including sanctions, anti-money laundering considerations and wider conduct-related matters.
- Support wider credit and lending initiatives, including regulatory change, transformation and process improvement projects.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting lending products and communicate key implications to stakeholders.
About You
- Mid-to-senior lawyer with significant banking and finance experience.
- Strong expertise in both syndicated and bilateral lending transactions.
- Excellent knowledge of LMA documentation; familiarity with LSTA documentation would be advantageous.
- Proven experience advising on a wide range of corporate lending products and structures.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
- Experience in leveraged finance and/or project finance would be beneficial but is not essential.
