We’re looking for a senior Payments Regulatory lawyer to join our client, a multinational fintech company, to support them for at least 3 to 6 months. You’ll be joining the team acting as the SME for UK EMI and MiFID permissions. Ideally you’ll have strong knowledge of payments law, cross‑border regulatory issues, and experience advising enterprise platforms. You’ll also be experienced in UK EMI and MiFID regulatory frameworks.
Your role will include:
- Acting as the primary UK lawyer, working independently
- Advising on payments‑related legal issues, including multi‑currency wallet services, card issuing, and cross‑border transactions
- Overseeing UK EMI applications currently in progress and MiFID permissions
- Delivering practical, risk‑based legal advice, balancing compliance with commercial decision‑making
- Supporting compliance work related to MiFID licence and ongoing uplift for DORA requirements
- Collaborating with stakeholders across EMEA, America, and APAC
This assignment will be full time, ideally with 3 days in the London office. It is due to start in January and is expected to run for at least 3 to 6 months.
