We are working on an opportunity for a Privacy Lawyer with APAC experience to join a global technology organisation. This organisation encourages flexibility and remote working for its global legal team.

What will the role involve?
You will support the company’s privacy programme in APAC, ensuring compliance with regional data protection laws. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing employee training on data protection across teams (e.g., customer service agents, product, engineering).
- Ensuring employee data is processed in line with privacy regulations, in collaboration with the Employee Experience team.
- Monitoring and assessing compliance with APAC data protection laws through regular audits, policy reviews, and collaboration with Legal and Security teams to ensure robust privacy practices.
- Acting as the primary contact for APAC data protection supervisory authorities and user privacy inquiries.
- Advising on privacy impact assessments and coordinating breach notifications with support from data security experts in Legal, Security, Product and Engineering teams.
- Tracking and advising on APAC legislative developments with Policy and Outside Counsel and where necessary, engage with industry associations and regulators on legislative developments around APAC.
What skills do they need?
- 8+PQE privacy/data protection counsel with strong in-house experience, preferably from a tech/digital space and large multinational organisation.
- Substantive and demonstrated expertise in global data protection law and privacy framework, particularly EU and APAC.
- Experience creating and managing compliance processes.
- Understands technology-driven businesses,communicates concisely, and influences effectively across a wide audience including regulators, leadership, engineering and product teams, and wider legal team.
