We're looking for a senior Payments Regulatory lawyer to join our client, a multinational fintech company, to support them for at least 3 to 6 months. You'll be joining the team acting as the SME for UK EMI and MiFID permissions. Ideally, you'll have strong knowledge of payments law, cross-border regulatory issues, and experience advising enterprise platforms. You'll also be experienced in UK EMI and MiFID regulatory frameworks.
Your role will include:
- Acting as the primary UK lawyer, working independently
- Advising on payments-related legal issues, including multi-currency wallet services, card issuing, and cross-border transactions
- Overseeing UK EMI applications currently in progress and MiFID permissions
- Delivering practical, risk-based legal advice, balancing compliance with commercial decision-making
- Supporting compliance work related to MiFID licence and ongoing uplift for DORA requirements
- Collaborating with stakeholders across EMEA, America, and APAC
This assignment will be full time, ideally with 3 days in the London office. It is due to start in January and is expected to run for at least 3 to 6 months.
