Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Personal Injury Solicitor role based in Glasgow. The solicitor will manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including taking detailed client statements, gathering evidence, and assessing liability and quantum. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents and correspondence, negotiating settlements with insurers and opposing representatives, and preparing cases for litigation where necessary. The role involves attending court hearings and conferences, maintaining clear communication with clients, and ensuring that all work complies with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. The solicitor will collaborate with colleagues across the firm, support junior staff where appropriate, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and client service.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with demonstrable experience in Personal Injury law, including managing a varied caseload and handling claims from instruction to settlement or trial.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, case law, and procedural rules and apply them to client matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear drafting of pleadings, statements, legal correspondence, and negotiation documents.
  • Sound client care skills, with the ability to build trust, explain complex legal issues in accessible terms, and maintain professional relationships.
  • Effective time management and organisational abilities, including prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate file records.
  • Proficiency with case management systems and standard office software; familiarity with court portals and digital filing is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of civil procedure, personal injury protocols, and relevant regulatory requirements; experience with litigation in Scottish courts is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, and collaboration within a diverse, inclusive team environment.
