Lawyerly is a commercial law firm providing subscription and fixed-fee legal services to small and medium-sized businesses. Our clients treat us as their in-house legal team, and we act for them across the full range of their commercial needs. We do not bill by the hour, so there are no timesheets and no billable-hour targets.
We are looking for a solicitor to join us on a three-month fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible. You will run your own client matters from the outset, working closely with a small team. The role would suit someone with sound judgement and a practical approach who can take on a varied caseload quickly.
The role
- Advising SME clients on commercial contracts, corporate matters, compliance, employment, intellectual property and commercial leases
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements and client documents
- Identifying risk early and advising clients before issues arise
- Acting for clients across a wide range of industries
About you
- Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate
- 5+ years' PQE
- A commercial generalist, comfortable moving between areas of law
- Able to pick up matters quickly and run them independently
- Able to take on an existing caseload and manage it independently
- Comfortable using AI tools, such as Claude, in your day-to-day work
