Senior Designer - Southampton

Role Overview

Founded over 20 years, Lawtech have become a leading principal contractor specialising in cladding remediation. We deliver high-quality, compliant, multi-million-pound cladding repatriations & regeneration contracts throughout London and the wider Southeast.

To

1. Create drawings, using relevant specifications, where Lawtech design is applicable.
2. Go to site and site office (3-4 days per week) and complete surveys, take photos in order to create design drawings.
3. Liaise with Design Manager, commercial and project manager to ensure design is within budget.
4. Update drawings based on accurate site surveyed information.

Role Responsibilities

1. Creation, monitoring and revision of assigned drawings.
2. Liaison with manufacturers and project teams including distribution of relevant documentation.
3. Respond to technical queries and make recommendations to fix problems.
4. Respond to adhoc problems and raise with D&Q manager accordingly.
5. Undertake site inspections to monitor and manage technical quality of works and ensure they are carried out as per specifications and manufacturers’ recommendations.

Key Tasks

1. Ensure information is available for site set up in line with Lawtech requirements, from job start to close.
2. As advised by D&Q manager, visit sites on a planned and adhoc basis.
3. Attend regular meetings with site teams, as required.
4. Create fabrication drawings and issue to buying department for procurement.
5. Collate relevant information for relevant standards to pass to client and funder as appropriate.
6. Make recommendations for changes, to D&Q manager.

Role-specific Skills and Qualifications:

1. Engineering or Architect related studies or equivalent experience.
2. CSCS card basic level.
3. Facades experience, EWI, cladding, rainscreen experience is essential.

General IT

1. Competent user MS Excel, MS Word, Microsoft Outlook email and calendars.
2. Expert AutoCAD user (3D AutoCAD/SketchUp/Revit optional).
