Position Overview
Join Lawsons as an HGV Class 2 Hiab driver based at The Landscape Centre. In this role you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods using an HGV Class 2 vehicle equipped with a Hiab crane, providing professional customer service at every delivery location and ensuring products are handled and presented to company standards.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 44.5 hours per week: Monday to Friday (shifts ranging between 07:00 to 17:00) with alternate Saturdays 08:00 to 12:00.

Main Responsibilities
- Operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle and Hiab crane safely and in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Deliver products to customers efficiently, ensuring correct quantities and quality on arrival.
- Load and unload materials using the Hiab crane and assist with manual handling where required, following safe working practices.
- Provide excellent customer service, representing Lawsons professionally at all times and building positive customer relationships.
- Complete all required delivery paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Report any vehicle defects, product damage, incidents or near-misses in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
- Be vigilant to prevent loss or damage of stock and company property.
- Contribute to identifying potential sales opportunities during customer visits and communicate these to the branch team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence (C) and up-to-date Driver CPC (essential).
- Proven Hiab/loader crane qualification and demonstrable experience operating a Hiab (essential).
- Previous experience in delivery driving, ideally within builders’ merchants or landscape supplies.
- Good customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and maintain reliability.
- Willingness to learn about company products and follow company processes and standards.
