We are an award‑winning, Legal 500‑recognised firm with a strong reputation for client care, professionalism and a supportive working culture. Our highly experienced Family Law Department is expanding and we are looking for a Family Solicitor or Family Law Fee Earner to join our friendly team.

Pay range: £32,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high‑quality, timely and professional advice and representation to family law clients.
  • Manage your own caseload efficiently, ensuring regular communication on progress and costs.
  • Draft a wide range of documents including divorce petitions, court applications, financial statements, narrative statements, court orders and briefs.
  • Attend clients, take instructions and give clear legal advice.
  • Attend court hearings where required.
  • Support other fee earners on their files as needed.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives, including writing articles and attending networking events.
  • Manage the financial performance and compliance of your files.
  • Assist junior team members with their development.

Qualifications:

  • Family Solicitor, Legal Executive or Family Law Fee Earner with a minimum of 2 years post‑qualified experience.
  • Skilled in managing a varied caseload, with strong drafting and advisory experience.
  • Client‑focused with excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Organised, proactive and able to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Positive, collaborative and committed to supporting the wider department.
  • Comfortable representing the firm at networking events and contributing to marketing activities.
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, compliance and best practice within family law.

Preferred Skills:

  • Day‑to‑day time management and planning of workload.
  • Decision‑making aligned with departmental and firm objectives.
  • Active involvement in networking and external relations.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within the department.
  • Achieving agreed fee‑earning and financial targets.
  • Supporting high standards of client care.
