Lawson West is an ambitious and well-established law firm, committed to delivering a very high-quality service across a wide range of practice areas. We are looking for an experienced and client-focused Residential Conveyancing Lawyer to join our friendly, supportive and successful Conveyancing Department. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year's post qualified experience and a proven track record in handling a full range of residential conveyancing transactions, confidently managing a busy caseload from instruction through to completion, while providing excellent client care and supporting the continued growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing a varied caseload including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, shared ownership, leasehold matters, lease extensions, plot sales, sales/purchases of part, and right to buy.
- Advising clients in person, by phone, and in writing, ensuring all legal implications are explained clearly.
- Checking and dealing with title documentation, contracts, and other legal matters arising.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including CQS standards, money laundering regulations, and the Solicitors Code of Conduct.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Supporting the department's marketing and business development activities, including maintaining relationships with referrers.
- Providing guidance and supervision to Assistants, ensuring training needs are met.
- Qualification as a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx) or Licensed Conveyancer with significant residential conveyancing experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and up-to-date understanding of conveyancing law and practice.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with a proactive, client-focused approach.
- Ability to manage workload independently while meeting deadlines and billing targets.
