p Location: Farnham, Surrey: Hybrid /p p UK based applicants only. /p p Department: Design Product Development /p p br /p p br /p p About the Role /p p We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Footwear/Slipper Designer Developer to support our Design Product Development team in creating commercially successful footwear collections for a wide range of global brands and retailers. /p p This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a fast-paced footwear design and manufacturing agency. You will gain exposure to every stage of the product development process, from initial concepts and trend research through to sampling and production. /p p br /p p Key Responsibilities /p p Design Support /p ul li Assist in designing footwear across a variety of categories including mens, womens and childrens products. /li li Support the creation of seasonal concepts, colour palettes, material stories and trend presentations. /li li Produce CADs, technical drawings and presentation boards. /li li Assist in preparing client presentations and design meetings. /li li Carry out market, trend and competitor research. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p Product Development /p ul li Assist with the preparation and maintenance of technical packs specifications. /li li Help coordinate the development process from concept through to production. /li li Review samples alongside senior designers, recording comments and amendments. /li li Liaise with factories to communicate design updates and development feedback. /li li Help monitor development timelines to ensure deadlines are achieved. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p Materials Sourcing /p ul li Assist with sourcing materials, components and trims. /li li Maintain the material library and sample archive. /li li Organise incoming samples and development prototypes. /li li Support sustainability and innovation projects where appropriate. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p Administration Organisation /p ul li Prepare and organise design documentation. /li li Maintain development trackers and sample logs. /li li Ensure product information is accurate and up to date. /li li Support the team with day-to-day administrative tasks. /li li Assist with showroom preparation for customer meetings. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p Skills Experience /p ul li Degree (or equivalent) in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, Product Design or a related discipline. /li li 3-5 years experience in footwear design or product development /li li A genuine passion for footwear and product design. /li li Good understanding of footwear construction and manufacturing processes. /li li Familiarity with mens, womens and childrens footwear categories. /li li Experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. /li li Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. /li li Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. /li li Excellent communication and teamwork skills. /li li Willingness to learn and develop within a collaborative environment. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p Desirable /p ul li Experience creating CADs and technical specifications. /li li Knowledge of footwear materials and components. /li li Experience communicating with overseas factories. /li li Understanding of costing and product development timelines. /li li Awareness of current footwear trends and consumer markets. /li li Basic understanding of Microsoft suite. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p Personal Attributes /p ul li Creative and commercially aware. /li li Curious and eager to learn. /li li Organised and highly detail-oriented. /li li Positive and proactive attitude. /li li Strong team player. /li li Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. /li li Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. /li /ul p br /p p br /p p What We Offer /p ul li Opportunity to work with leading international footwear brands and retailers. /li li Exposure to the full footwear design and development process. /li li Ongoing training and mentoring from experienced designers. /li li A supportive and collaborative studio environment. /li li Opportunities for career progression within a growing business. /li /ul p br /p p Please get in touch at info@lwfootwear.co.uk /p
