⭐️ Head of Marketing

This role has the option to be 4 or 5 days per week.

Our client is a rapidly growing multi‑category food & drink SME, driving incremental shoppers to the shelves in store. They’re one of the fastest growing brands in JS, Ocado and Holland & Barrett. Operating in the UK and European markets with a diverse portfolio of products they’re looking for a Head of Marketing. 🚀

Role & Responsibilities

  • Set Strategic Marketing Direction: Define and lead the multi-brand marketing strategy, aligning commercial objectives with measurable growth plans across UK and European markets.
  • Build & Lead a High-Performing Team: Currently 3x direct reports with scope to grow.
  • Drive Brand Planning & Budget Allocation: Oversee annual brand plans, marketing budgets (circa £2m), and performance frameworks to ensure optimal ROI and long-term scalability.
  • Oversee Brand Activations & Campaign Delivery: Guide the planning and execution of ATL, OOH, trade, sampling, and partnership campaigns, ensuring consistency and excellence across all channels.
  • Steer Performance & Digital Marketing: Provide strategic direction to the performance team, evaluating paid media, influencer, and CRM effectiveness, to ensure spend is aligned with commercial impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance to align marketing activity with commercial outcomes, ensuring shared goals and smooth execution.
  • Creative Oversight & Toolkits: Lead the creation of marketing toolkits and assets, from retailer decks to campaign templates, ensuring brand consistency and rapid activation across markets.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Marketing Leader – 6+ years in FMCG marketing.
  • Strategic & Commercial Mindset – Demonstrated ability to link marketing investment to business performance and growth.
  • Hands-On Operator – Willing to roll up sleeves and support across planning, creative, and delivery when needed.
  • Performance Marketing Awareness – Understands the principles and impact of paid media, influencer, and CRM activity (without needing to execute directly).
  • Client-Facing Confidence – Experienced in managing senior stakeholder relationships and representing marketing strategy externally.
  • Entrepreneurial Energy – Thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment with a mix of structure and start-up agility.
