We’re supporting a highly respected international organisation undergoing a significant period of transformation to appoint an experienced Data Protection Lead on an interim basis. This is a senior leadership role with broad responsibility across Data Protection, Information Governance, Records Management, Information Risk, and emerging AI governance oversight. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and improving organisational data governance maturity during a critical period of change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation’s data protection and privacy function, operating at DPO level
- Drive improvements across information governance frameworks and controls
- Oversee records management and information risk activities
- Support governance oversight relating to AI and emerging technologies
- Partner closely with senior legal and operational stakeholders
- Manage and develop a specialist team of 3 covering: Data Protection, Records Management, Information Risk & AI Governance
- Contribute strategically to long-term governance maturity and organisational change initiatives
About You
- Strong background in Data Protection and Information Governance
- Experience operating in a senior leadership or Head of function capacity
- Proven people management and leadership experience is essential
- Comfortable working across broad and evolving governance remits
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
- Candidates with a strong governance improvement/change background will be particularly well suited
