Head of Data Security

Salary – (Apply online only)k + 20-30% Bonus + Benefits

Location – London (required in office 2 day per week)

Brand new role with a Global Financial Services firm, who are hiring for a Head of Data Security to work with their wider technical cyber security teams to ensure the data they are handling and managing is secure.

They are looking for someone from a technical background with experience leading Data Security initiatives and can take a holistic view of their Encryption, Endpoint Security, Database Security and more general DLP tooling (Purview); ensuring they are all working cohesively

This is a pivotal role sits at the heart of their Security strategy where you can truly shape and affect how the Data Security program is built and delivered, whilst working alongside a global team of genuine Cyber Security industry leaders; for an organization at the centre of one of the most highly regulated industries!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with global Cyber Security leadership team to define and deliver the global Data Security Management strategy; in line with the wider Info/Cyber Security strategy.
  • Assess and understand where all information assets lie and where they are being utilized, ensuring all operational security teams have the resources (technical and process) for effective data security management.
  • Lead the testing on current data security controls to understand and recommend improvements.
  • Translate relevant security directives, guidelines and standards into actionable advice for the CISO and wider C-Suite.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong technical background with a breadth of knowledge across various operational security topics covering DLP (Purview knowledge a bonus), Encryption, Endpoint/Database Security, etc.
  • Experience developing and delivering strategic security roadmaps, particularly those dedicated to Data Security management.
  • In-depth knowledge of security governance standards and legislation, and how Data Security feeds into them.
  • Ability to influence and face off with senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business risks.
