Main responsibilities
- Accounts Preparation
- Small limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships, pension schemes
- Prepare planning sections of work programme in accordance with office guidelines
- Prepare and monitor budgets
- Liaise with clients for information gathering purposes
- Settle queries with seniors
- Prepare completion section work programme including paper or electronic disclosure checklists
- Review with seniors and complete file including reporting pack
- Write up cash books, sales day books, purchase day books for limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships
- Bank reconciliations
- Prepare accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, etc)
- Liaise with clients for information gathering purposes
- Settle queries with seniors
- Review with seniors and complete file including reporting pack
- Internal and external audits
- Fieldwork testing of bank, sales, purchases, including stock take attendance and other site verifications
- Prepare personal tax returns
- Prepare VAT returns
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns
- Prepare P11ds
- Occasional advisory work – business plans, profit and cash flow forecasts
- Deal with correspondence from clients
- Review work of juniors, resolve technical queries and ensure the file is complete and all review points addressed before passed to the manager
- Attendance at in house and external professional training courses
- Be aware of other LG services and products which may be appropriate to clients
Qualifications & skills
- Accounting and finance or other relevant degree preferred but not essential
- ACCA / ACA exam qualified preferred but not essential
