Our client, a well-established, successful, and highly respected manufacturing business based in Welwyn Garden City, is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector on a permanent basis to join their growing quality team. Job Overview

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring manufactured products meet customer specifications and quality standards throughout the production process.

Duties

  • First-off, last-off, patrol, and final inspections
  • Carrying out visual and dimensional inspections
  • Using measuring equipment including verniers, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and shadowgraphs
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Maintaining inspection and calibration records
  • Supporting non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis
  • Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Working closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues
  • Assisting with first article inspections and supplier quality activities

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience
  • Previous Quality Inspection experience
  • Confident using verniers and calipers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using measuring equipment and inspection tools
  • Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Experience working double day shifts is highly desirable

Desirable

  • FAIR / PPAP experience
  • ISO9001 experience
  • Root cause analysis experience
  • CMM or optical measuring equipment knowledge
