Are you an experienced Brake Press Operator available for an immediate start? Do you have a background in sheet metal fabrication and experience operating press brakes and associated machinery? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

Our client, a well established metal fabrication company, is looking to recruit an experienced Brake Press Operator to temporarily work within their production team. This is a temporary assignment for approximately two weeks, starting immediately.

Working alongside a team of permanent employees, you'll play a key role in supporting production output and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard.

Job Overview

As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating sheet metal machinery, producing components to specification, and supporting general fabrication activities within a busy manufacturing environment.

Duties

  • Operating CNC and manual brake press machinery
  • Folding and forming sheet metal components to engineering specifications
  • Operating guillotine machinery
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job instructions
  • Selecting and changing tooling as required
  • Carrying out quality checks on finished components
  • Measuring parts using hand‑held inspection equipment
  • Ensuring products meet dimensional and quality standards
  • Supporting general sheet metal fabrication activities
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Following all health and safety procedures at all times

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous Brake Press operating experience
  • Experience working within a sheet metal or metal fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience operating guillotine machinery
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of health and safety within manufacturing
  • Reliable and punctual approach to work

Desirable

  • Experience setting and programming brake press machinery
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers and calipers
  • General fabrication or workshop experience

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm

  • 15‑minute paid break plus 30‑minute unpaid lunch
