Our client is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished HR professional with a strong background in employee relations, organisational change and workforce planning to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced operational environment.
Working closely with senior leaders, the HR Manager will play a key role in delivering a people strategy that supports business objectives across a major Capital Works and Retrofit workstream. This is a hands-on yet strategic role, requiring someone who is equally comfortable managing complex HR issues as they are influencing senior stakeholders and driving organisational change. This HR Manager position is initially expected to last around three months, with the potential to extend depending on project requirements.
About the Role
As HR Manager, you will partner with operational leaders to develop and deliver a people plan that supports business growth, leadership capability and organisational performance. You will provide expert advice across the full employee lifecycle while leading on complex employee relations matters, workforce planning and business transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring people priorities are aligned with business objectives, supporting organisational change and helping to embed high standards of people management across the business.

What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and deliver a people plan aligned to business objectives and company culture
- Partner with senior operational leaders to translate business plans into practical people initiatives
- Lead and support organisational change, restructures, mobilisations and transformation projects
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management
- Drive workforce planning activities, identifying future capability requirements, succession risks and skills gaps
- Support leadership development and improve management capability across the business
- Analyse people data and colleague insights to identify trends and implement preventative actions
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing and challenging where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with the wider HR team, including Talent & Development, Recruitment and HR Support teams
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner or Senior HR professional
- Strong generalist HR experience with extensive employee relations expertise
- Proven experience delivering people plans and supporting organisational change
- Experience of workforce planning, leadership development and organisational capability
- Ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data and translate findings into practical actions
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience (Chartered MCIPD advantageous)
- Willingness to travel across England when required
Desirable Experience
- Background within construction, social housing, repairs and maintenance, capital works or retrofit environments
- Experience supporting large-scale organisational change, restructuring, mobilisation or contract transitions
- Knowledge of TUPE processes
- Experience managing or developing HR team members
