Warehouse Operative Counterbalance Forklift Driver – Day shift

Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative with a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence? Do you enjoy a hands on warehouse role where you'll be kept busy with a mixture of forklift driving, unloading containers and general warehouse duties?
Our client, a well established and growing distribution company based in Biggleswade, is looking for a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join their Goods In team on a temporary to permanent basis.
This is a physically demanding role, so we're looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable and happy to get stuck into manual warehouse duties alongside operating a forklift truck.
About the Role
As a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you'll be working within the Goods In department, helping to unload deliveries, move stock and ensure goods are stored safely and efficiently.
This isn't purely a forklift driving position. You'll also be involved in unloading containers by hand, breaking down and restacking pallets and carrying out regular heavy lifting.
What You Will Be Doing
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
- Unloading containers and incoming deliveries
- Breaking down pallets and restacking goods
- Carrying out regular heavy lifting and manual handling
- Moving and organising stock within the warehouse
- Checking incoming deliveries for accuracy
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Using a forklift to move pallets into storage locations
- Supporting the wider Goods In team with general warehouse duties
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised
- Following all Health & Safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence/certificate is essential – you must hold your own licence
- Minimum 1 year's Counterbalance Forklift driving experience is essential
- Previous warehouse or Goods In experience
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and physically demanding work
- Experience unloading containers and handling pallets would be advantageous
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Good attention to detail
- Happy to undertake both forklift driving and manual warehouse duties
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
