Stores Person

Hours: Full-time, 36.5 hours per week Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:00pm (30-minute lunch), and Friday: 7:30am-12:00pm

  • Job Overview
  • Receiving incoming goods and checking deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Inspecting deliveries for damage, defects or discrepancies and reporting any issues.
  • Accurately recording goods received on the relevant stock/inventory system.
  • Labelling and storing materials correctly, ensuring good stock rotation.
  • Maintaining an organised and tidy Goods In and Stores area.
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal teams regarding deliveries, shortages or discrepancies.
  • Carrying out regular stock checks, cycle counts and assisting with stocktakes.
  • Keeping stock records accurate and up to date.
  • Picking, preparing and kitting components ready for production.
  • Ensuring components are stored correctly and are readily available when required.
  • Supporting the wider team with general stores and warehouse duties.
  • Working in line with company quality, environmental and health & safety procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience within warehouse, stores, logistics, dispatch or goods-in/goods-out.
  • Experience receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching goods.
  • Previous experience using a stock control, inventory, ERP or warehouse management system.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory systems.
  • Experience maintaining delivery documentation and accurate records.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Reliable, punctual and dependable.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to resolving problems.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as EPICOR, Vantage or similar would be desirable.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence would be advantageous as some deliveries may be required.
