Our client, a well established metal fabrication company, is looking to recruit an experienced Brake Press Operator to temporarily work within their production team for approximately two weeks, starting immediately.
Job Overview
As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating sheet metal machinery, producing components to specification, and supporting general fabrication activities within a busy manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Operating CNC and manual brake press machinery
- Folding and forming sheet metal components to engineering specifications
- Operating guillotine machinery
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job instructions
- Selecting and changing tooling as required
- Carrying out quality checks on finished components
- Measuring parts using hand-held inspection equipment
- Ensuring products meet dimensional and quality standards
- Supporting general sheet metal fabrication activities
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Following all health and safety procedures at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous Brake Press operating experience
- Experience working within a sheet metal or metal fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience operating guillotine machinery
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of health and safety within manufacturing
- Reliable and punctual approach to work
Desirable
- Experience setting and programming brake press machinery
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers and calipers
