An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a successful Hertford-based business in a key senior finance position.
This is a hands on role offering significant responsibility across management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis.
We're looking for an accomplished finance professional who can do more than simply report the numbers.
You'll be expected to understand what is driving business performance, identify risks and opportunities, challenge where appropriate and provide meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making.
This opportunity would suit an established Senior Accountant, or someone currently operating as a strong second-in-command to a Finance Director, who is ready to take ownership and make a genuine impact within the wider business.

Skills & Experience Required
- Significant experience operating at Senior Accountant level or as deputy/second to a Finance Director
- Fully qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA, or close to completing one of these qualifications
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
- Excellent commercial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide meaningful recommendations
- Advanced Excel skills, including building, auditing and interrogating complex financial models practical Excel capability will be assessed during the recruitment process
- Previous experience managing and developing finance team members
- Strong career history demonstrating progression, increasing responsibility and measurable achievements
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues
- Proactive and commercially curious with the confidence to challenge constructively and bring new ideas to the business
