About the Role
As Quality Manager, you will report directly to the Directors and take responsibility for leading the quality function across the business. Managing a Quality Engineer, you will oversee the Quality Management System, support production teams, lead internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with ISO standards and medical device regulations.
Working closely with colleagues across production, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen quality processes, and help support the company's ongoing growth.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and manage the Quality department, including supervision of the Quality Engineer
- Maintain and continuously develop the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Plan and lead internal and external quality audits
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, UKCA, MDR, and other regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and quality processes
- Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Monitor production processes to ensure products consistently meet specification and quality standards
- Review and improve quality documentation, work instructions, technical files, and procedures
- Upgrade legacy engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
- Work closely with production, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality-related issues
- Coach and support colleagues on quality standards and best practice
- Monitor goods inwards, in-process, and finished goods inspections
- Identify training, equipment, and process improvements to enhance quality performance
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of five years' experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality position
- Experience working within an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 9001, UKCA, and MDR requirements
- Previous experience within engineering or manufacturing
- Experience releasing products into a live production environment
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational abilities
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
