The Role

Are you passionate about law and excited by the future of legal technology? We’re seeking an innovative Solicitor with debt recovery expertise to join our team. If you’re a Solicitor with 0-5 years PQE eager to blend legal expertise with ground-breaking tech, this opportunity is perfect for you.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of small claims matters, focusing on:
  • Completing and filing small claims applications online through Money Claim Online or paper forms
  • Preparing defenses and counterclaims for clients facing small claims actions
  • Drafting and sending letters before action
  • Advising clients on enforcement options for small claims judgments including warrant of control and attachment of earnings
  • Managing pre-action protocols proportionate to the value and complexity of small claims
  • Instructing barristers/advocates for the purposes of in-person representation
  • Advise clients on legal merits, potential outcomes, and next steps.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in small claims matters
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage a high volume caseload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively
  • Empathy and patience when dealing with questions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge/Experience working with local councils or housing associations
  • Interest in AI and how it can be used to improve the legal system
  • Prior experience working in a technology company or start up
