About Woodstock Legal Services:
Woodstock Legal Services isn’t your typical law firm. We’re breaking the mold – ditching the jargon, delivering expert advice, and doing things differently in the legal world. We've gathered our wisdom from years of legal experience and paired it with a willingness to break the mold. At Woodstock, you’ll be part of a people-first culture where ideas are welcomed, collaboration is second nature, and your contribution really matters. We invest in our internal teams because we know they’re the engine that keeps everything running and we’re proud of the culture we’ve built together.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced, qualified residential conveyancing lawyer to join the firm on a full time basis. This is a hands-on fee-earning role for someone who is organised, driven, and excellent with clients. Someone who can manage a demanding caseload independently, hit exchange targets consistently, and help the firm continue to grow.
You will take full ownership of your own caseload, supervise a paralegal, and play an active role in developing new business for the firm's conveyancing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a full and high caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion, working independently and with minimal supervision.
- Handle a broad range of transaction types, including freehold, leasehold, shared ownership, new build, right to buy, and auction sales and purchases.
- Consistently meet monthly exchange and completion targets set by the firm, progressing files proactively to keep transactions moving and minimise delay.
- Keep on top of all post-completion work, including SDLT returns, Land Registry applications, and discharge of existing charges, ensuring nothing is left outstanding.
- Deliver an excellent standard of client care throughout every transaction, aiming to generate strong client reviews, testimonials, and repeat business.
- Supervise and manage the work of a paralegal, delegating tasks appropriately, reviewing output, and supporting their development.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities to help grow the firm's conveyancing caseload, including building relationships with estate agents, brokers, and other referrers.
- Liaise professionally and effectively with clients, estate agents, other solicitors/conveyancers, lenders, and other third parties at all stages of the transaction.
- Ensure full compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, anti-money laundering requirements, CQS protocol, and the firm's internal policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case management records and file notes in accordance with the firm's systems and quality standards.
What You'll Bring:
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Fellow, or Licensed Conveyancer.
- A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in residential conveyancing.
- Proven track record of managing a high caseload while consistently meeting exchange and completion targets.
- Strong, up-to-date technical knowledge across freehold, leasehold, shared ownership, new build, right to buy, and auction transactions.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied caseload.
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding client care skills, with a demonstrable track record of generating positive client feedback and reviews.
- Experience of supervising, managing, or mentoring a paralegal or other junior fee earner.
- Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in business development, with the drive to help grow the firm's client base.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
