Woodstock Legal Services isn’t your typical law firm. We’re breaking the mold – ditching the jargon, delivering expert advice, and doing things differently in the legal world. We’ve gathered our wisdom from years of legal experience and paired it with a willingness to break the mold. At Woodstock, you’ll be part of a people-first culture where ideas are welcomed, collaboration is second nature, and your contribution really matters. We invest in our internal teams because we know they’re the engine that keeps everything running and we’re proud of the culture we’ve built together.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced residential conveyancing lawyer to join our team as a Team Lead and Supervisor. This role focuses on providing supervision and oversight across a range of conveyancing matters - focusing on matters involving mortgages and acting for lenders, supporting our consultant lawyers and case handlers to deliver high-quality work and excellent client outcomes at pace. You will play a key role in ensuring files progress smoothly, compliance standards are maintained, and complex issues are proactively resolved to enable successful and timely completions. Note: We operate in a fast-paced environment and with a high volume of cases; this role is ideal for an independent individual who can manage tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Support: Provide expert guidance and oversight for residential conveyancing transactions, supporting less experienced consultants and case handlers to ensure consistent standards.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) rules, maintain accurate records, and conduct initial file reviews, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with Anti‑Money Laundering and client care standards.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, ensuring all transactions progress within Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and proactively resolve issues to facilitate smooth completions.
- Quality Assurance: Review and sign off key documentation and pre‑completion packs, ensuring quality and compliance before submission to lenders or other parties.
- Stakeholder Liaison & Advice: Work closely with Lawhive consultants and liaise effectively with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors. Provide pragmatic, solutions‑oriented legal advice on complex or challenging files.
What You'll Bring:
- At least 5 years PQE experience in residential conveyancing, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity (e.g., team leader, senior conveyancer).
- Extensive experience representing lenders and a thorough understanding of their requirements.
- Proactive and solutions‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
Interview Process:
- Introductory call with our Talent team
- 1:1 with the Hiring Manager
- Case study exercise
- Values interview with one of our Founders
We offer!
- UK Benefits: 33 days’ annual leave (25 + bank holidays) plus your birthday off
- Extended Christmas holiday
- Pension contribution
- Give back - support a good cause with a charity day each year
- Regular socials/team events
