The Role
Are you passionate about law and excited by the future of legal technology? We’re seeking an innovative Solicitor with debt recovery expertise to join our team. If you’re a Solicitor with 0-5 years PQE eager to blend legal expertise with ground-breaking tech, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of small claims matters, focusing on:
- Completing and filing small claims applications online through Money Claim Online or paper forms
- Preparing defenses and counterclaims for clients facing small claims actions
- Drafting and sending letters before action
- Advising clients on enforcement options for small claims judgments including warrant of control and attachment of earnings
- Managing pre-action protocols proportionate to the value and complexity of small claims
- Instructing barristers/advocates for the purposes of in-person representation
- Advise clients on legal merits, potential outcomes, and next steps.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in small claims matters
- Excellent organisational skills to manage a high volume caseload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Empathy and patience when dealing with questions
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge/Experience working with local councils or housing associations
