Job title: Trainee Underwriting Assistant
Location: London
Purpose of role
Lawes is partnering with a Lloyds Syndicate in their London office to recruit a Trainee Underwriting Assistant within the International Property team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Graduate or A-Level (or equivalent) candidate looking to start their career in insurance within an underwriting environment. The successful candidate will support the Underwriters with managing the book of risks and handling a variety of administrative duties. Full training and development will be provided.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for dealing with incoming calls and emails.
- Entering and processing risk information
- Analysing data and providing reports to Underwriters
- Liaising with Underwriters and Brokers as needed
- Prepare and issue insurance documents such as evidence of cover
- Data entry and general administrative duties
- Ad-hoc duties as needed
Experience and requirements
- Educated to Degree level β preferred
- Minimum of 3 A-Levels grades C or above (or equivalent)
- An understanding of Insurance and a desire to continue to learn
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
