An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Property Underwriter to join a specialist Property Underwriting team operating under a delegated authority scheme. The team focuses exclusively on Property underwriting and has a strong track record of profitable growth. Working alongside experienced underwriters, youβll play a key role in supporting the growth and management of the property binder portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality underwriting decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the underwriting process by providing quotations under supervision within delegated authority limits
- Apply underwriting guidelines accurately and escalate complex decisions when appropriate
- Assist in issuing and managing documentation for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments (MTAs)
- Maintain accurate bordereaux returns, underwriting records, and reports
- Support compliance with audits, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures
- Contribute to insurer and broker relationship management by providing professional and timely support
- Engage actively in ongoing training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
DAY-TO-DAY
- Prepare quotations and policy documentation under supervision
- Manage underwriting data and documentation in line with company procedures
- Monitor binder performance through accurate record keeping and reporting
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development initiatives
SKILLS
