The opportunity
I'm delighted to be working with a respected and well-established insurance brokerage as they continue to grow their presence within the Scottish marketplace. This is a senior-level appointment for an experienced commercial broker who can hit the ground running — someone who is as comfortable managing complex risks as they are building lasting relationships with clients and insurers alike. This is a technical role at its core, but one that demands a genuine people person.
What you'll be doing
- Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of SME and mid-market clients across a broad range of commercial lines
- Own and manage insurer relationships, negotiating terms and securing the best outcomes for clients on larger, more complex risks
- Handle a full spread of commercial products and provide technically sound advice tailored to each client's needs
- Utilise Acturis to manage client records, documentation and renewal workflows efficiently
- Work closely alongside the executive team, supporting the wider growth of the business
What you'll need
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial insurance broking
- Broad experience across commercial lines products — a true all-rounder with depth across SME and mid-market
- Confident handling larger, more complex risks with a strong technical grounding
- Proficient with Acturis — experience using it day-to-day is essential
- An established network and the ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both clients and insurers
- More technically driven than sales-focused, but with the interpersonal skills to be the trusted face of the business for clients
The package
Salary is dependent on experience, with a competitive overall package. The business is keen to secure the right person and will reflect that accordingly.
