The business has an active and growing renewable energy portfolio spanning onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage and other low-carbon technologies, and is looking to strengthen its underwriting capability as demand for specialist renewables cover continues to grow across the London and Lloyd’s markets. /p p This is an opportunity to join a well-regarded underwriting team with genuine authority to shape a growing book, working closely with brokers and clients across the international renewables sectors. /p p br /p p strong u RESPONSIBILITIES /u /strong /p ul li Underwrite a portfolio of renewable energy risks, including construction and operational property, business interruption and liability exposures across onshore/offshore wind, solar, energy storage and emerging technologies. /li li Assess and price new and renewal business in line with delegated authority and underwriting guidelines. /li li Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, MGAs and coverholders to develop new business opportunities. /li li Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging risks within the renewables sector to inform underwriting strategy. /li li Work closely with actuarial, claims and risk engineering colleagues to ensure robust risk selection and portfolio performance. /li li Represent the syndicate at broker and market events, contributing to the profile of the renewable energy offering. /li li Support the development of underwriting policy, wordings and pricing tools specific to renewable energy risks. /li li Contribute to business planning, portfolio reporting and management information. /li /ul p br /p p strong u SKILLS /u /strong /p ul li Proven underwriting experience gained within the London or Lloyd’s market, ideally with direct exposure to renewable energy, power or broader energy/property lines. /li li Strong technical understanding of renewable energy risk, including construction and operational exposures for wind, solar and/or storage assets. /li li Established relationships with brokers and/or MGAs active in the renewables space. /li li Sound understanding of delegated authority arrangements and Lloyd’s market practice. /li li Strong analytical and pricing skills, with the ability to assess complex risks accurately. /li li Excellent relationship management and communication skills, comfortable representing the business externally. /li li Professional insurance qualifications (e.g. ACII, or working towards) desirable but not essential. /li li Degree educated or equivalent industry experience. /li /ul p br /p p strong If you would like to understand more about this position, Please feel to get in touch with Louis Gibbs via email on louis.gibbs@lawesgroup.co.uk. /strong /p p br /p
