SALARY: £40,000 - £50,000

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

My client are seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience in a technical support or account handling role within Marine, with a particular focus on Cargo business. This is a key position supporting global broking teams and delivering high-quality technical service across the full client lifecycle. The successful candidate will play an important role in slip production, risk creation, premium processing and managing client and broker expectations, while contributing to the growth of expanding international network of offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide global broker support to Marine broking teams, preparing renewal statistics and documentation ready for market placement.
  • Produce and review market and client documentation, including slips, wordings and clauses.
  • Support with drafting client evidence of coverage, including Debit/Credit Notes and all related documentation.
  • Submit Slips and LPANs to Bureau (XIS) for signing and utilise London Market portals including the XIS Insurance Portal, IMR and Lineage.
  • Resolve technical queries from clients, brokers and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain internal paper and electronic systems, databases and workflows in line with Contract Certainty and regulatory guidelines.
  • Use broking systems to produce documents and accounting entries, ensuring their accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global markets, clients and colleagues to provide optimal service.
  • Continuously review client service delivery to achieve optimal client satisfaction.

DAY TO DAY

  • Prepare slips, endorsements and contract documentation for Marine Cargo placements.
  • Liaise with brokers and markets to progress placements and renewals.
  • Manage client portfolios through to completion, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Assist with client liaison, handling global queries and data requests promptly.
  • Support broking teams with renewal statistics and preparation of placement documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records across internal systems and databases.
  • Ensure all workflows meet Contract Certainty and regulatory requirements.

EXPERIENCE

  • Sound technical experience in a similar client services or broking support role, with a particular focus on Cargo business.
  • Exposure to wider Marine lines beneficial.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Good understanding of global market dynamics and how these impact existing and potential clients.
  • Experience managing client accounts through to completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict deadlines.

SKILLS

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong stakeholder management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise and multi-task under pressure.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge essential.
  • CII qualified or working towards CII qualification.
  • Team player with a flexible approach to workload and willingness to support colleagues.
