A leading international insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Commercial Claims Specialist to join its specialist claims team in London. This role involves managing a portfolio of commercial insurance claims across a range of sectors, including Property, Liability, Construction and other complex commercial risks. The successful candidate will handle complex and high-value claims while working closely with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders to ensure claims are managed proactively and effectively. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, provide strategic claims advice, and contribute to market insight and thought leadership within the commercial insurance space.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and submit claim notifications to insurers
- Manage a portfolio of complex commercial insurance claims
- Liaise with clients, insurers, loss adjusters and internal colleagues to ensure claims are proactively managed
- Maintain accurate claims records within internal case management systems
- Attend client meetings, pre-renewal discussions and claims review meetings
- Provide strategic claims advice to clients and support Account Executives during renewal discussions
- Deliver presentations and insights to clients on claims trends and risk management
- Act as a technical referral point for junior members of the team
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience handling commercial insurance claims within a broker, insurer, or legal environment
- Experience dealing with Property, Liability, Construction or other complex commercial risks
- Strong knowledge of policy wordings and coverage interpretation
- Ability to advocate on behalf of clients and negotiate effectively with insurers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
Desirable
- Cert CII qualification or progress towards professional qualifications
- Knowledge of London Market claims processes and systems
