Trading Underwriter Salary: Β£45,000 - Β£55,000 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join a growing underwriting team. You will work closely with brokers to maximise new business conversion and retention, while ensuring risks are assessed in line with underwriting guidelines, delegated authority and the interests of capacity providers. Handle underwriting referrals where risks fall outside the authority of other team members. Ensure underwriting decisions are made accurately and with appropriate consideration of risk and capacity requirements. Assessing and underwriting household risks across new business and renewals. Trading and negotiating with brokers to secure business. Reviewing risks and making informed underwriting decisions within delegated authority. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all activity complies with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Working closely with underwriting, claims and administration colleagues. Building and maintaining productive relationships with brokers and business partners. Experience of trading with brokers and developing strong broker relationships. Good understanding of general insurance principles and underwriting practices. Strong commercial awareness with a track record of achieving business objectives. Strong underwriting and risk assessment skills. Excellent broker relationship and trading abilities. Good understanding of regulatory requirements and internal controls.
