Contract: Full Time Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To manage and develop a portfolio of commercial clients, deliver high-quality insurance advice, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to business expansion through excellent client service and relationship building in a customer-focused environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop your own portfolio of commercial clients
  • Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities
  • Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments, and client enquiries, ensuring excellent customer outcomes
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with key decision-makers
  • Cross-sell a full range of insurance and related products, including financial services and risk management services
  • Work with underwriters to secure appropriate cover and terms
  • Maintain accurate and compliant client records using CRM systems
  • Contribute to overall growth, client retention, and reputation within the local business community

DAY-TO-DAY

A typical day involves client meetings (in-person and virtual), reviewing and preparing renewal quotations, handling policy enquiries and adjustments, prospecting for new opportunities, collaborating with underwriters and internal teams, updating client records, and following up on cross-selling leads—all while prioritising outstanding service and compliance.

EXPERIENCE

  • Commercial insurance experience is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a similar account executive, client-facing, or sales role within insurance preferred
  • Proven track record of managing client portfolios and achieving retention/growth targets

SKILLS

  • Competent use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent literacy, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible, people-oriented approach with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a supportive team environment
