Job Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to markets and derivatives business in OCBC head office and other global market branches and subsidiaries of the company.
  • Responsible for drafting and negotiating Master Agreements and other trading agreements, as well as related collateral agreements (ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, TMA) with counterparties in various jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with and respond to queries relating to Master Agreements from other functional specialists in the bank to resolve legal, credit risk, operational, tax, and business issues, and obtain relevant approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to the bank’s documentation standards, and maintain/update documentation templates and procedures.
  • Work on regulatory-driven projects or bank-initiated projects as required.
  • Collaborate with sales, structuring, and trading teams to review or develop derivatives product term sheets and structured investment solutions involving repack participation structures with different asset class underlying.
  • Provide support to bank projects handled by Group Legal Strategic Projects and Corporate Office as needed.

Education and Experience Information

  • 8 to 12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Singapore or English qualified lawyer preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in derivatives, repurchase, securities lending, financial services regulatory, banking, capital markets, or Islamic finance work (whether in a law firm or as in-house counsel) will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Good team player with an agile and adaptable mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and with other functional specialists in completing projects.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
