About The Role: Law360 is seeking a News Assistant to join our London bureau. This entry-level role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal, policy, and business journalism. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of topics, including court proceedings, regulatory developments, government policymaking in the UK and EU, and financial news such as mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and capital markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor court dockets, regulatory databases, and official websites
  • Track parliamentary hearings and other key events
  • Pitch story ideas to editors and contribute to news coverage
  • Build foundational skills in news gathering, writing, and editing
  • Work toward progression into a junior reporter role with training and support

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated research and writing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Experience in media, publishing, or research (professional, academic, or volunteer)
  • Enthusiasm for journalism and a willingness to learn
  • A degree in journalism or a related field is welcome but not essential
  • We provide comprehensive training on legal topics—prior legal or business reporting experience is not required
