About the role
We are seeking a senior reporter to cover legal issues surrounding the property and construction markets in the U.K. This reporter will write regular news analyses and features, contextualizing major court rulings in the property market and construction sector, as well as deal‐making and regulatory developments in the space. This reporter will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the beat and a reliable roster of sources.
Responsibilities
- Building a deep network of sources and mastering the subject area
- Reporting and writing features and analysis pieces and covering the biggest news stories for the wire
- Breaking exclusive news and interviews
- Driving Law360 UK coverage of the industry
Requirements
- Reporting experience, preferably at a daily publication
- Experience covering civil courts or property and construction sectors strongly preferred
- Demonstrated reporting, writing and organizational skills
- Exceptional news judgment and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in shaping a beat
- Must be able to build sources and regularly write enterprise stories
Preferences
- Experience in covering legal or regulatory affairs or experience in covering business news.
