My client is a leading, Legal 500-recognised law firm based in central London, known for its long-standing reputation for excellence across Private Client, Family, and Commercial work. The firm is committed to fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and supportive culture and is now seeking an experienced HR leader to design and deliver a modern, data-driven People Strategy that aligns with the firm’s long-term goals.

Head of People & Culture — Position Overview:

This new role will lead on all strategic HR initiatives, working closely with the Management Board, COO, and Head of HR. The successful candidate will shape the firm’s People Strategy, focusing on reward, engagement, technology, talent development, and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of People & Culture:

Develop and deliver a multi-year People Strategy aligned with firm objectives and values
Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior management on people and culture matters
Leverage HR data and analytics to inform decisions and drive improvements in engagement, retention, and workforce planning
Design and implement a fair, transparent, and competitive reward and benefits framework
Lead on compensation benchmarking and modernise the firm’s benefits offering
Partner with the Legal Systems Manager to implement a modern HRIS and data-driven processes
Oversee recruitment strategy, employer branding, and resource planning to attract top legal talent
Develop and manage performance, learning, and leadership development programmes
Foster a diverse, inclusive, and engaging culture through communication and collaboration
Lead employee engagement surveys and deliver measurable improvements based on feedback

Requirements of the Head of People & Culture:

Extensive experience in a senior HR leadership role within a law firm or professional services environment (essential)
Degree in HR, Business, or related discipline (CIPD qualified or equivalent)
Proven success in developing and executing firm-wide People Strategies
Strong understanding of reward structures, compensation, and benefits management
Experience implementing HR technology systems and digital transformation projects
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills
Analytical, data-driven mindset with strong commercial awareness
Deep understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
Positive, proactive, and passionate about driving organisational change and engagement
