Leading specialist legal aid practice Strong reputation for community care, public law and housing work Supportive and collaborative team environment with ongoing training and development Community Care Solicitor — Position Overview: You will manage a varied claimant community care caseload, acting for vulnerable adults, children and families in challenging decisions made by local authorities and public bodies. You will work alongside experienced housing and public law practitioners in a supportive and expanding team. Key Responsibilities of the Community Care Solicitor: Managing a varied community care and public law caseload Challenging assessments, care plans and local authority decisions Identifying and pursuing Judicial Review claims where appropriate Advising clients on community care and Court of Protection matters Ensuring local authorities comply with safeguarding and statutory duties Conducting negotiations, advocacy and correspondence as required Maintaining excellent client care and regular communication with clients Ensuring Legal Aid Agency requirements and compliance obligations are met Requirements of the Community Care Solicitor: Minimum 2 years’ experience in Community Care, Public Law and/or Court of Protection work Experience challenging assessments, care plans and local authority decisions Strong knowledge of community care law, public law and legal aid funding Experience using CCMS and Legal Aid Agency systems desirable Excellent communication and client care skills The Benefits for the Community Care Solicitor role: Competitive salary (DOE) Remote or hybrid working options Ongoing training and professional development Career progression opportunities If you are a Community Care Solicitor looking to join a specialist legal aid practice making a genuine difference to people’s lives, apply today.
