Crime Duty SolicitorUK QUALIFIED SOLICITOR We are a renowned multiservice law firm committed to access for justice. Our lawyers specialise in criminal defence, family law, housing, civil liberties and human rights. We are a Legal 500 and Chambers UK recommended firm who are currently recruiting a Duty Solicitor to join our Crime Team in our South East London office. This is a full-time position with the successful candidate being part of a dynamic and growing team.You will be responsible for: Representing clients detained at police stations Handling own caseload of criminal defence cases across a full range of different offences Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if the candidate has Higher Rights) About you: Solicitors with at least 1 year’s PQE in criminal matters Crime duty accreditation is preferred but not essential, although the successful candidate will be expected to obtain this accreditation if they do not already have it Excellent communication and advocacy skills IT proficiency Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision Demonstrates a pragmatic, professional and positive approach Have a passion for publically funded work Attention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a team Excellent client and team building skills IT pr…
