Head of Family Lawyer Position Overview:
- Advise on complex, high-value privately funded family matters, including substantial assets and complex financial arrangements.
- Support and mentor colleagues while maintaining high standards of client care.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Family Lawyer:
- Managing a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, including divorce, financial remedy and children arrangements, from instruction through to resolution.
- Advising clients on complex and high-value financial matters with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Conducting detailed legal research and case analysis, liaising with experts, counsel and the courts.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff, apprentices and trainee solicitors.
- Driving business development through referrer relationships, networking and marketing events.
Requirements of the Head of Family Lawyer:
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent with significant privately funded family law expertise (typically around 8 years' experience or more).
- Demonstrable experience advising clients with substantial assets and complex financial arrangements.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to develop and grow a team.
