Our client, a nationally recognised law firm ranked by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, is seeking an experienced criminal law solicitor. Minimum 3 years’ PQE as Deputy Head of the Leeds Office is required. You will enjoy hybrid working, 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a birthday day off, healthcare, administrative support, a firm‑provided computer and mobile, annual appraisals and salary reviews, and many other great incentives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of the Leeds Office in managing and supervising the Leeds Crime team.
  • Help allocate and manage workloads to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Review files regularly to ensure compliance with LAA requirements, SRA standards, and firm policies.
  • Provide practical casework support and guidance, including on complex or sensitive matters.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, including paralegals, trainees, and newly qualified solicitors.
  • Assist with team training and development.
  • Support quality assurance through performance monitoring and addressing skills gaps.
  • Assist with compliance tasks such as billing, file management, and case closure.
  • Act as a senior point of contact when the Head of the Leeds Office is absent.
