Our Legal 500 and Lexcel accredited client is looking for a hands-on Conveyancing Head of Department to lead their Residential Property team. As Conveyancing Head of Department, you’ll guide and support your team, ensure clients receive an outstanding service, and help drive the department’s operational, financial, and overall success within the firm.

Responsibilities for this Conveyancing Head of Department role:
- Manage, supervise and support your team, including recruitment, one-to-ones, appraisals, setting objectives and overseeing performance against agreed targets.
- Monitor case handling standards, ensuring client demands are met, cases progress appropriately and complex or high-profile matters receive the right level of guidance.
- Oversee team budgets, financial performance, fee-earning targets and identify opportunities to grow the team’s revenue and capacity.
- Provide strong, motivational leadership, ensuring team members receive appropriate training, supervision and development, including trainees and junior staff.
- Ensure monthly file reviews are completed, client files are well maintained, tasks are appropriately delegated and supervised, and business sources are accurately logged.
- Work collaboratively with HR to support effective recruitment and retention and manage outstanding or bad debt within the team.
