An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Accounts Manager to join this top legal 500, multi-accredited law firm on the East London/Essex border. The successful candidate will need to be organised as they will be managing all the financial aspects of the firm in this busy but rewarding role. This position is a full time, office based role.

Legal Accounts Manager role overview:
The Accounts Manager is responsible for the effective management of the firm’s client and office accounts, invoicing processes and financial reporting, ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and all relevant regulatory requirements. The role includes managing a team of six within the accounts function and providing strategic and operational support to the firm’s management team.
Responsibilities for this Legal Accounts Manager role:
- Implement and maintain the firm’s client, office and invoicing procedures in accordance with the Office Manual and the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Preparing financial statements
- Preparation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting
- Prepare and oversee regular bank reconciliations
- Responding to all queries and requests in a timely manner
- Maintaining VAT records
- Advising department management on financial decisions
- Deliver a consistently high standard of client care and quality of service
- Supervise, support and develop Accounts Assistants and other accounts staff
Qualifications, Skills and Experience for this Legal Accounts Manager role:
- The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years experience as a Legal Management Accountant
- Experience of working within a law firm as well as knowledge of legal processes is essential
- Industry qualifications desired (ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience of dealing with Legal Aid Agency work
- Strong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, VAT, AML regulations and associated compliance obligations
- Previous experience working within a Lexcel/SQE - accredited firm
