Contentious Probate Solicitor β Position Overview
You will manage a varied caseload of medium to high-value disputes in wills, estates, inheritance, and trusts. Youβll work alongside renowned experts in the field with strong opportunity for career progression.
Key Responsibilities of the Contentious Probate Solicitor
- Handle contentious probate disputes for claimants and defendants, including challenges to validity of wills
- Advise on Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
- Manage disputes concerning executors, trustees, and beneficiaries
- Draft pleadings, witness statements and settlement correspondence
- Engage in ADR and attend mediations, hearings, and client conferences
- Maintain compliance and accurate case records
- Collaborate with private client and wider litigation teams
- Stay current with probate legislation and share expertise within the team
Requirements of the Contentious Probate Solicitor
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- 2β5 years PQE in contentious probate litigation
- Strong advocacy, drafting and negotiation skills
