We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Immigration Solicitor (1β2 years PQE) to join our Immigration Department. The successful candidate will primarily handle private immigration appeal matters, managing a caseload independently and providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients. The role will focus mainly on immigration appeals, including preparing appeal cases, drafting legal submissions, reviewing evidence, and representing clients throughout the appeal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of private immigration matters, with a particular focus on immigration appeals.
- Provide clear and accurate legal advice to clients on immigration matters.
- Conduct detailed case assessments and identify appropriate legal strategies.
- Prepare appeal documentation, including grounds of appeal, witness statements, legal representations, and supporting evidence.
- Draft persuasive written submissions and skeleton arguments.
- Review Home Office decisions and identify errors of law, evidential issues, and grounds for challenge.
- Prepare cases for hearings before the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber).
- Attend and represent clients at immigration appeal hearings where required.
- Liaise with clients, barristers, experts, and other relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with firm procedures, SRA requirements, and deadlines.
- Manage client expectations and provide regular case updates.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Immigration Department.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 1β2 years PQE.
- Previous experience handling immigration appeals is essential.
- Experience working with private immigration clients (non-legal aid) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UK immigration law and Tribunal procedures.
- Experience preparing appeal bundles, legal submissions, and case strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Ability to manage a caseload with appropriate supervision.

- Experience conducting immigration appeal hearings.
- Experience dealing with complex immigration matters.
